The expectation that expressing one's emotions, feelings, or impulses is wrong, shameful, or embarrassing.

Acts in an unrealistically positive, optimistic, "Pollyannaish" way (rare).

Does not hope for too much; Keeps expectations low.

Minimizes positive events, exaggerates negative ones; Expects and prepares for the worst.

Even when things are going well, it's only a matter of time before they will suck again.

When people are excited about something, I get uncomfortable and I need to tell them all the ways things could go wrong.

You can't be too careful; something will always go wrong.
